Packing and storing

When packing and storing items, it's essential to follow best practices to ensure the safety and longevity of your belongings. Here are some key considerations:

  • Placing cardboard boxes directly on concrete floors can expose them to moisture, potentially leading to damage. To mitigate this risk place a plastic sheet, tarp or wooden pallet beneath boxes to prevent moisture absorption.
  • Ensuring boxes are packed and stacked correctly is crucial for maintaining their integrity and preventing accidents. Overfilled boxes can burst, while underfilled ones may collapse when stacked. Place heavier boxes at the bottom and lighter ones on top to maintain stability.
  • When storing fragile items, it's crucial to label the boxes clearly to ensure they are handled with care. Mark each box containing delicate items with the word "FRAGILE".
  • When organizing a storage unit, it's advisable to place items you need to access frequently near the entrance.
  • When storing items for an extended period, it's crucial to protect them from dust accumulation. A simple and effective method is to cover your belongings with old sheets for example
  • To maximize space in your storage unit, consider utilizing storage cabinets.
